A 19th century ecclesiastical applique work dating from the 1800's. Ribbon motifs made from gold lame travel down the center with gold work embroidery of iris buds and leaves. Emroidered words in latin done in an red thread. The inscription reads "Libera nos maria paris" which translates as "delivery us the fair seas." Photos are a good representation of actual color.

66 cm from top to bottom
21.5 cm across at the widet points.
Condition
Shows some signs of age but still in good condition. There are two old repairs to the gold work. One towards thetop which shows as a lighter gold threads and one towards the bottom on one of the leaves to the left.
