An amazing piece of 18th/17th century gold & silk work embroidery. French in origin. Depicting carnations center done in silk threads satin stitch. Shades of gold, creme, greens and blues. . The entire background done in various techniques of gold work embroidery. Framed (without glass) in an early 1900's wooden frame. Quit possibly a fragment from an ancient vestment piece at one time.

Condition
The embroidery work is in very good condition with only a bit of missing silk thread.
The frame has some paint missing and some knicks.
