A stunning piece of 19th century French gold & ribbon work embroidery. Center motif bottom a basket done in gold metal threads with a large bouquet of blossoms and leaves done in silk ombre emboirdery ribbon. Swags at top and trailing leaves and branches at the sides done in the same silk ribbons. Along the sides lattice work motifs done in a gold metal threads and scrolled leaves and torches all done in silk threads. The base is a heavy silk moire fabric in a creme color. 
 
Would be ideal for framing or make a beautiful pillow front.
