This is one of the things I love about French textiles and why they are so poplular. The French are genius when it comes to putting color combinations and designs together. This 19th century French plaid is no exeption. Cotton. A simple plain plaid in ombre shades of indigo blue and and green with the  addition of a sweet little leafy block print in matching color.  Photos are a good representation of actual color.

Condition
 
A couple of larger holes towards one end and several smaller holes throughout. The fabric was quilted at one time leaving quiilt lines. There are no stains and colors are fairly even. There are some good small pieces without damage. Probably best suited for small projects or upcycling. 
 
The fabric has been laundered using those famous Marseille soaps without any bleaching agents. We like to delivery a clean and pressed product while taking care to preserve the integrity and color of the fabric.
