A bit of a mystery to me on the origin of this large banner/runner. Purchased here in the South of France but has a distinct Ottoman appearance. Dark chocolate brown velvet back (almost looks black) with stylized blossom like motifs done in gold lame and edges with a gold metal thread. A metallic and marigold cotton trim run across the top, bottom and at one side. All set on a linen back. Marks at back are possible maker marks. Photos are a good represenation of actual color.
Measurements
1 meter 49 cm in length (I haven't included the strip of white cotton at the right side)
The width is
53.5 cm wide
Condition
The banner does have a seam which runs from top center to bottom center and a tiny bit of wear to the lame motifs at the bottom. For the rest in very good condition with minor signs of age.
