An antique dutch chintz bonnet. Dates from the early 1800's. This bonnet has been made out of several pieces of chintz fabric that have been sewn together. Beautiful florals against a medium light blue ground. A silk and cotton trim lines the sides. All hand stitched. The original liner has been replaced with a more modern verysion.
The child's bonnets were made and used in the small fishing village of Marken, Holland. The antique chintz's were hand down from generation to generation.

From top front to back bottom 11 cm x 14 cm from side to side along the bottom.

Used but still in excellent condition.
