An antique dutch chintz bonnet. Dates from the early 1800's. This bonnet has been made out of several pieces of chintz fabric that have been sewn together. Beautiful florals against a medium light blue ground. A silk and cotton trim lines the sides. All hand stitched. The original liner has been replaced with a more modern version.
The child's bonnets were made and used in the small fishing village of Marken, Holland. The antique chintz's were hand down from generation to generation.
