An antique dutch chintz bonnet. Dates from the early 1800's. This bonnet has been made out of several pieces of chintz fabric that have been sewn together. Beautiful florals and snakes against a off white ground. A silk and cotton trim lines the sides. All hand stitched. Liner has been replaced with a newer one.
The child's bonnets were made and used in the small fishing village of Marken, Holland. The antique chintz's were hand down from generation to generation.
