An antique piece of ecclesiastical lace. French in origin. Gold work embroidery done in wide gold metal flat threads. Depicting roses, rose buds and wheat. All hand done on tulle. Backed with a finely woven muslim cotton.

90 cm in length x 32 cm from top edge to bottom of scallop. 
 
Condition
 
Good appearance and overall in good condition but it does have some slight wear to some of the threads and there are also some missing threads especially along the bottom edge. The tulle has some stains and soiling from age but would probably lift with a good soaking. In addition, you will see some some small holes in the tulle at the upper left hand corner.
