Unique piece of antique silk & metal thread embroidery. Possibly Persian based on the stylized trees that run along the top of the runner. Based on research of similiary designs believe it dates from the late 1600's early 1700's. Satin stitch and couched threads on a golden taupe silk background. Linen gauze liner at the back. All hand done. Fringe along three sides may be a later addition. Photos are a good represenation of actual color. I've also included photos of the back to which show details of the embroidery work.
