Antique religious applique depicting a  soldier kneeling to Jesus center with a further depiction of the baby Jesus hanging in a cradle above and a small crown. Dates from the late 1700's. French in origin. Hand painted and hand embroidered with a metallic and silk thread. Gothic style frame around the sides is hand embroidered with a gold metallic thread has now taken on a dark patina.Photos are a good representation of actual colors.

Used but still in good condition. The only thing to note is that you will see some minor surface wear to the metallic thread. The silk velvet around the frame has has faded in color from red to a medium brown color.Nothing major or distracting,
