Antique religious applique depicting a a bed ridden man and his wife with a priest. Dates from the late 1700's. French in origin. Hand painted and hand embroidered with a metallic and silk thread. Gothic style frame around the sides is hand embroidered with a gold metallic thread has now taken on a dark patina. Photos are a good representation of actual colors.

Condition
 
Used but still in good condition. The only thing to note is that you will see some minor surface wear to the silk ground barely visible. The silk velvet around the frame has has faded in color from red to a medium brown color. Some minor surface wear to the metalic thread here and there.Nothing major or distracting.
