An early 1800's French toile du jouy. Use to be a pelmet at one time. Depicts various middle eastern scenes with figures, buildings and foilage. Shades of purple with accent colors in white.

57.5 cm from top edge to bottom of scallop edge
*please note the pelmet is three pieces of fabric hand seamed together with seams running from top to bottom.
Center panel is selvage to selvage which can be seen at the back of fabric and this panel has a width of 77 cm
Condition
Heavily distressed with large and small holes, missing areas and thin areas throughout. Colors are good and strong and have an even appearance but porbably have lightened over time.
The fabric has been laundered using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents in order to remove dust and dirt. We like to deliver a clean and pressed product when possible but take care to preserve the color and integretity of the fabric.
