I love the look of this 19th century French panel. "Joie de Vivre" bohemian look with it's block print pattern of stylized scrolls and interlocking geometrics. The influences of the design seem to cross many borders. Light cotton in weight with design in a very dark aubergine (looks brown) against a light gold background.

Photos are a good indication of color and condition.

Measurements

Actually two pieces sewn together and one is wider than the other.

The entire piece measures

1 meter 52 cm in length

If you took the two pieces apart the measurements on each piece would be

76 x 38 cm

76 x 39 cm

Condition

Very good condition with no stains or damage except one piece has a hole at the far edge and the other piece has a small hole at the far edge. Both holes are right at the edge. There was a silk piping around three sides of the fabrics but most of that has worn away and you would possibly want to remove the remnants.

Left in "as found" condition.
