I love the look of this 19th century French pelmet. "Joie de Vivre" bohemian look with it's block print pattern of stylized scrolls and interlocking geometrics. The influences of the design seem to cross many borders. Light cotton in weight with design in a very dark aubergine (looks brown) against a light gold background. All hand stitched. A matching yellow piping along all edges which looks to be silk. Linen strip runs along the top edge at back. A beautiful passementerie along the bottom edge in a rosy red.

Photos are a good indication of color and condition.
