Fascinating large 19th century Ottoman table cover. Wide decorative hand embroidered borders along all sides done in a gold metallic thread on a red silk velvet backing. Lots of possibilites with this piece. would look amazing over a long wooden table, as a throw over a sofa, upscaled for long bolster pillows or as a wall hanging. Photos are a good represenation of actual color.

Condition
 
As you can see a lot of the red silk velvet pile has dissapeared over time but still appears here and there throughout the gold work embroiderd. All of the gold work in embrodery is in very good condition with no damage or missing threads. The velvet fabric does have a larger split at one end and a smaller split. There is a cotton liner at the back that also has a large tear so you might want to replace it.
 
I love this piece and if it were me I would close the split in the fabric with a hand stitch and keep it as is.
