Antique religious applique depicting a nun giving bread to the unfortunate. Dates from the late 1700's. French in origin. Hand painted and hand embroidered with a metallic and silk thread. Gothic style frame around the sides is hand embroidered with a gold metallic thread has now taken on a dark patina. Photos are a good representation of actual colors.

Condition
 
Used but still in good condition for it's age. The only thing to note is that you will see some surface wear to the metallic thread on the frame and a couple of minor wear spots on the silk on one of the figures and at the top and bottom of the applique. Nothing major or distracting. Still has a good appearance.
