Love the shape and design of this early 1800's French silk and metallic brocade fragment. Unique butterfly shape motif done in a metallic threads with florals and leves to the sides in a silk thread. At the edges a gold metallic lace trim. Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Line down the middle of the fragment is probably an old repair or the fragement was two pieces at one time and has now been joing. You can see that the silk ground has darkened with age. No damage.
