A linen toile du jouy that dates from the 18th century.  Design the "Discovery of America" series. Depicting boats, figures and part of a castle.  Red and white in color.

Condition
 
 Fabric has not been laundered and has aged in color especially the background which is now brownish. Mostly dust. They can be successfully cleaned with a good soaking and you can bring back the white background. We have several buyers that like the "aged" look so we have left the fabric in it's "as found" condition. There is a sewing line down the right hand side which can be seen when held up to the light. No holes or obvious stains. Bottom left hand corner is missing which can be seen in photos. 
 
Good for small projects, patchwork, collage etc.
