Saved from a very large six panel screen this 19th century paper fragment. Depcitings various florals and leaves, a bird towards the top, towards center and at the bottom edge. This panel appears to have two full repeats. There is an applied paper border along each side. The paper has an off white background. Motifs appear to be hand painted or block printed (looks like watercolor) and if you run your fingers across it you will feel some texture. The screen has been paper overed at least 4 times from what I can see so you will see edges of the other papers around the edges. Fixed to a jute back which you can see remants of at the back. Stiff and slightly warped due to age. Would look amazing reproduced or framed. Photos are a good represenation of actual color.
Measurements
72 cm from top to bottom
39 cm wide
Condition
Some variation in background color due to age and dusty. Other than giving them a light brush I haven't tried to clean the panel and left in "as found" condition." The paper is stiff (mosty due to the layering). Edges a bit rough and worn and a few light scratches.
