Saved from a very large six panel screen this 19th century paper fragment. Depciting various florals and leaves and birds.  This panel appears to have two full repeats. There is an applied paper border along sides. The paper has an off white background. Motifs appear to be hand painted  or block printed (looks like watercolor) and if you run your fingers across it you will feel some texture. The screen has been paper overed at least 4 times from what I can see so you will see edges of the other papers around the edges.  Stiff and slightly warped due to age. Would look amazing reproduced or framed.   Photos are a good represenation of actual color.

Measurements

1 meter 59 cm from top to bottom

48.5 cm wide

Condition

Some heavier discoloration of background color at top and bottom with lighter discoloration in between due to age.  Other than giving them a light brush I haven't tried to clean the panel and left in "as found" condition." The paper is stiff (mosty due to the layering). Notably a large piece missing from left hand bottom corner. Rough edges along the borders and some missing small pieces. Colors have faded evenly and less strong than some other panels that we have listed. A few surface wear spots where you will see a bit of missing paint in some motifs. Break in the paper at bottom edge in the bird motif.
