What was probably a shawl at one time this large piece of finely woven cotton in a beige color. The fabric has been embellished with hundreds of gold metal spangles in floral and leaf motifs. As you can see from the overall photo the motifs run along two sides.
 
Lots of possibilities for upscaling.

Condition
 
This piece has some weight to it because of all the metal spangles. Fabric is good and strong. Perfectly suitable for sewing projects. 
 
Left in "as found" condition. The cototns shows some small light stains and some soiling. There are some missing spangles here. 
 
Please note the cotton base is actually 3 pieces of the same cotton that have been rolled under and hand seamed. No holes in the fabric.
