A late 1700's  French cotton block print. "Distressed." Incredible design of florals and leaves with some geometric shapes. Reminds me very much of Oberkampf fabrics. So much detail and variation in the florals. Colors are madder red and light blue.  All against a white background.

Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.

Measurements

1 meter 33 cm from top to bottom

57.5 cm wide (still has the selvage at one side)

Condition

Quilted at one time so you will see quilt lines. Good piece for various projects since there are good small sections without damage that could be used for scraping, patches etc. Larger holes and damage around the top. Smaller line of holes down right hand side. Thin areas and other small holes here and there. No obvious stains. Colors were undoubtedly stronger at one time which you can see at the sides that were not exposed but has now faded evenly.

The fabric has been laundered using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. We like to deliver a clean and pressed product when possible but take care to preserve the integretity and color.
