An 18th century French silk brocade fabric. Saved from an old chasuble. Groups of florals, leaves and stems attached to a very light ribbon and floral motif in the background. All done on an iridescent lavnder background.
Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurements
93 cm from top to bottom
The width is
18.5 cm wide (still has selvage at one side)
Condition
The silks from this period are always good and strong and can be sewn. I gave them a good yank to test the strength. Some tiny holes and two tiny splits. Floral motifs and material in and around motifs in good condition. Some slight dissapearance of silk threads due to age but nothing distracting.
