A of 4 pieces of 18th century French silk brocade fabrics. Saved from an old chasuble. Groups of florals, leaves and stems attached to a very light ribbon and floral motif in the background. All done on an iridescent lavnder background.
Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurements
Four pieces in this lot
The two smaller pieces measure
17 x 9 squared and 17 x 7.5 squared
the larger pieces are odd shaped and measure
53 cm along the straight side x 21 cm wide at widest points.
Condition
The silks from this period are always good and strong and can be sewn. I gave them a good yank to test for strength. Smaller pieces do have breaks in them. Larger pieces are in good condition but please note that one piece is two pieces seamed together and the other piece is four pieces seamed together. You will see some slight dissapearance of silk threads due to age but nothing that distracts.
