A 19th century French linen night gown. I'm always looking for antique lines that have aged and taken on some color and patina and this was a nice find. The nightgown has taken on a fleshy pink color and has some nice fraying around the bottom and around the arms. The linen is finely woven and has a pliable feel to it. It sort of reminds me of pig skin leather. You will see some hand sewn in French seam "darts" at the bottom on each side. Photos are a good represenation of actual color.
Measurements
1 meter 13 cm from top of shoulder to bottom x 91 cm across the bottom.
Condition
No holes or stains and even in color for the most part with some slight variations.
The night gown has been lightly laundered using those famous Marseille soaps in order to remove dust and dirt. We like to deliver a clean and pressed product when possible but take care to preserve the original color and integretity of the fabric.
