Rare Find! Lrg. Panel Oberkampf Block Print Fabric Early 1800's
Rare find! early 1800's block print cotton fabric. I've done a bit of research on the fabric and believe that it was made by Oberkampf. Typical of his earlier fabrics with intricate and detailed designs with intense colors. The repeating pattern of bouquets of florals in shades blue, terracotta, greens, yellows and a bit of white. Photos are a good represenation of actual color.
 
Measurements
 
2 meters 74 cm from top to bottom 
The width is 97 cm wide (still has the selvage at each side). 
 
Condition
 
Amazing for age. Lightly quilted at one time but you do not see any quilt lines. No stains. Colores are good and even throughout. There is a slightly uneven sewing line along one of the selvage sides with a line of tiny holes. Nothing major and doesn't affect the rest of the fabric. 
 
The fabrics has been left in "as found" condition and has a clean appearance.
