A 19th century French cotton fabric.  Abstract geometric motifs in shades of brown against a creme colored background.

Condition
 
Heavily distressed with many large and small holes as well as many thin areas and missing areas of fabric.  
 
Some variation at one side the fabric was not exposed to the elements and still shows the original color. No stains. For the rest of the fabric colors have faded evenly. 
 
Due to the fragility of the fabric I only removed old quilting threads and gave the fabric a light press.
