Early to mid 1800' French silk quilt fragment. Gorgeous royal purple color with some beautiful hand stitching. Backed with off whitecolored cotton. Thick layer of cotton batting between the layers of fabric.

Condition
 
Fortunately the silk front was made in the period before they started using chemical dyes so it is in good strong condition. There are a few small holes and I've seen a few old repairs. Slight variaiton in color due to age and a couple of small dark stains. Majority of the fabric in good useable condition. 
 
The back is still in very good condition with only some areas of yellowing due to age.
