Sometimes the colors, texture and subject come together so well!
This French oil painting I believe is probably mid 20th century (possibly a bit older). It depicts a very provencal looking village background in tones of sandstone, white and terracotta. In the forground two larger sailboats with with a few dingy's here and there. Somewhat impressionistic. The sea is a lovely blue green. Paint has a thick application with structure to it. Done on board and then stabilized at the back with a piece of wood. Signed at the bottom left hand corner by "Briganti J." or Bricanti. Nice on it's on but possibly adding a light colored frame would make the colors pop even more. Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurements
60 cm from top to bottom x 89.5 cm
Slightly less than 1 cm thick so it will easily fit a frame.
Condition
Very good overall. You will see a bit of missing paint at the edges which will probably not be noticeable if framed.
Found and left in "as found" condition.
