A very large piece of 19th century French ikat. Possibly a cotton/linen combination. Blue and white in color.

The entire piece measures 
 
1 meter 84 cm from top to bottom x 1 meter 35 cm 
 
Actually  one large piece center with selvage to selvage at both sides. A panel to one side and a panel to the other side which comprises 4 smaller  pieces sewn together. 
 
The center panel is 59 cm wide and only has selvage along one side. 
 
Condition
 
Very large holes and small holes as well as may thin areas. There are two patches. One an idigo which looks like it's from the same period and the other that is probably not as old.  This piece does have good small sections in it without damage that would work for small pillows or sachets so there are a lot of possibility with this large piece. 
 
The fabric has been laundered using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents. I've only given it a quick soap to remove dust and dirt. You may want to give it a deeper clean depending on how you choose to use the fabric. 
 
We like to delivery a clean and pressed product when possible but take care to preserve the color and integretity of the fabric.
