For those creative individuals this 19th century French cotton Vichy plaid in indigo blue, creme and a pink line. Actually three pieces of the same fabric hand stitched together with a narrow strip along one side and a 10 cm wide strip  sewn to another side.

Condition
 
Quilted at one time so you will see variation in background color. Top side of fabric has faded evenly. Back side (which I would be tempted to use) still shows that deep indigo blue color. One very large and a large hole next to each other with several small holes, a couple of tears and many thin areas. Only a few small pieces would in good condition for patches. Here and there some age related light staining. 
 
The fabric has been lightly laundered using those famous Marseille soaps without bleaching agents in order to remove years of dust and dirt accumulation and pressed for delivery
