Late 1700's/early 1800's French toile du jouy quilt fragment. Linen. Shades of dark pink reddish tones. Depicting some swags of blossoms, scrolled leaves. Larger motifs of figures at the left hand side and a set of columns with two deer at the right hand side.
A very thin batting has been used as the filler and the fragment is backed with chanvre linen in white.

Condition
Left in "as found" condition.
Small hole inbetween the figures at left. Pinhole in one of the deer. Two small holes towards bottom center. For the rest the fabric is in good condition.
The chanvre linen at the back shows several holes along the bottom edges and some small light stains. Good size sections without damage and suitable for small projects.
Overall clean appearance with no obvious stains but has not been laundered and leaving that up to the discretion of the customer.
