I love the soft romantic color in this large French tapestry panel dating from the 18th century. Finely woven in wool with silk thread accents. Depicting an almost life size soldier at the left size with a fancey feather plume helmet,  Towards the top and in the background a faint village scene. In and around the bottom a brick wall, a bundles package tied with rope, a copper urn and some draped fabric. Would look stunning in white interiors and give a good pop of color.

We are limited to 17 photos that we can show on the listing but I have many photos on file in case you would like to see them. Photos are a good represenation of actual color.

Measurements

2 meters  20.5 cm from top to bottom

The widthi is 1 meter 23.5 cm wide.

Condition

Overall condition is good especially for its age. The tapestry was undoubtedly in the process of being restored because it has been backed with a linen and several of the loose threads that are mainly at the top have been tacked down to stabilize. You will see old repairs and darns throughout the piece.  It has then been loosely attached to a cotton so that the tapestry can easily be hung or framed.  Colors are still good and strong. From mid way down the tapestry is in very good condition with only a couple of splits which can easily be closed with a few stitches.

Fortunately I have in stock a piece of border trim in a dark blue that looks stunning around the edges which I will include.
