A late 1700's early 1800's silk & metallic thread embroidery fragment. Italian in origin. Depcits a silk embroidered blossom and leaf center with bow at the bottom and stylized curved leaves to the sides done in a metallic thread. All done on a heavier weight creme colored silk brocade fabric.

Condition

 

Embroidery work in god condition with only some slight surface wear to the metallic threads which can be seen in the photos. Silk back has a thin area at the right hand corner and a hole at the left hand corner. There is also a split in the bottom half. Can easily be cut out and used as an applique.
