An 18th century French toile du jouy. Linen. Depicting figures and animals. Deep dark aubergine color.  Actually two pieces of the same fabric seamed together with the seam running from top to bottom. Good full motifs in the larger piece. Photos are a good represenation of actual color.

1 meter 16 cm from top to bottom

If you took the seam out you would have to pieces measuring 
16 cm wide
36.5 cm wide
 
Condition
 
Overall very good condition for age. There is one well executed small patch toward s the top where the design is well lined up. I saw one tiny spot towards the the bottom with a where the fabric has thinned. Nothing major. 
 
The fabric has been left in "as found" condition. You will see some even aging of the background which will undoubtedly lift with a good soaking.
