A gorgeous piece of antique silk brocade. French in origin. Dates from the mid 1800's. Repeatings of columns with tiny florals and leaves designs in In shades of pink, light green and just a dab of natural red against a beautifully woven ivory background. This brocade is medium weight and could easily be used for clothing, upholstery project or soft furnishings. Photosa are a good representation of actual color and condition.
Measurements
1 meter 19 cm from top to bottom squared
43cm wide with selvage at one side (squared there is actually a bit more of the fabric at one side but is uneven and I haven't included the extra in the measurements)
Condition
Probably used at one time but still in very good condition with no stains or holes. The threads are good and strong with no thinning. Colors are even and no fading.
There is one small tear at the selvage but nothing major. A deep fold line at the bottom edge so you may loose a couple of cm off the bottom depending on how you use the fabric. You will see some light wrinkles but should come out with a good pressing.
