Antique wooden spool of Gold metal flat thread. French in origin. Often used for couching and gold work embroidery. Nice quality. Photos are a good representation of actual color.

Spool measures just under 6 cm from top to bottom x 4 cm across the bottom.

Undoubtedly at least 100 meters of thread on this spool. 
Condition
Old stock. Excellent unused condition.  The only thing to note is that the outer layer of the thread has a darker patina due to age. Nothing major.
