Large bois dore element. French in origin. Probably date from the turn of the 18th century 19th century. Wood. Scrolled leaf motifs. Lighter and darker tones of gold. There are a few things I particuliarly like about this piece. It has a piece of wood at the back with a hole through it going from top to bottom. So it can easily be hung as you can see by an old piece of ribbon that is tied to the piece. It could also easily be mounted on a pole and used as a table top piece. In addition, I lie the curved "arm like" pieces at the bottom so the element could be used like a rosette with fabric draped over the arms. Photos are a good represenation of actual color.
Measurements
26 cm from top to bottom x 39..5 cm across at the widest points.
Condition
Overall good appearance. No missing pieces but there is missing paint here and there. You will see a crack in the wood at the center but the piece is stable. I gave it a light dusting but have not cleaned the piece any further leaving that up to the discretion of the buyer.
