Long panel of a very pretty early 1800's French chintz. Repeating stemmed rose pattern against a light tan pin striped background. Almost has a hand painted appearance. Photos are a good representation of actual colors.

Measurements

3 meters 14 cm from top to bottom (there is a small hem at one end of about 1 cm).

The width is 84 cm from selvage to selvage to selvage

Condition

Very good condition. Still a bit of the glazing on this fabric. The fabric use to be a curtain at one time but must have hung in a protected environment because there is no discoloration. There is a hem line at one end which shows a line of slightly darker color. A couple of tiny ages spots but you have to look for them. Two tiny tears at bottom edge but only measure about 2 cm in length. There are no obvious stains and no holes.

The fabric has been hand laundered using those famous Marseille soaps and hung to dry. It is our goal to preserve these antique fabrics and the integretity of the colors while at the same time keeping their aged appeance.
