I was immediately attracted to this  late 1600's early 1700's French tapestry fragment because of the colors and motifs. Wool with silk accents. The fragment has a larger seated figure at the center holding a cornucopia full of  fruit, flowers and leaves. At his sides left and right a fountain. Nex to the fountains a medallion depicting a scene, Far left hand side the figure of a satyre. At the far right side a goup of fruite and leaves. Very decorative on it's own and many possibilities for smaller projects.  Photos are a good represenation of actual color.

Measurements

2 meters 9 cm in length x 46.5 cm wide.

Condition

Overall in very good condition Colors are good, strong and even without stains. Tiny splits here and there but nothing major and you will see some old repairs. A bit of wear here and there but again minor and to be expected on an item of this age.  Some heavier wear right at the edges top and bottom with some exposed threads but these can easily be covered with a trim.
