A mid 1800's Frrench quilt fragment. Cotton. 
 
Front fabric: Depicting larger motifs of roses and tulips with smaller motifs of florals and and branches in the background. Intense picotage work throughout.  Colors are natural reds, turqouis and shades of brown against a  creme colored background.
 
Back fabric: a stripe in wine, caramel and white. 
 
Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition. 
 
Measurements
 
92 cm from top to bottom x 78 cm wide. 
 
Condition
 
Front: A few tiny holes which seem to be grouped mostly along the bottom. 
 
Back: shows some soiling and a few small holes towards the bottom. 
 
Only a thin layer of batting used in between the fabrics so the fragment could easily be used turned into a set of pillows. 
 
Left in "as found" condition.
