A romantic scene in this 18th century French needlework chair cover. Combination of regular and petite point stitching done in wool and silk. Depicts two figures center. One of a young man resting his head on a bank of florals and leaves and the other of a young lady. A large leafy tree center, a fountain to the right and a village scene at the upper right hand corner. The colors and details in the needleworks from this period are remarkable. Photos are a good representation of actual color and condition.
