Probably dating from the late 1800's this utilitarian looking French apron. Very staunch look. Heavy linen. One large pocket to one side. Strap around the neck and at the sides. The hems appear to be old machine stitched. Has the feel of canvas. Crude and simple. The fabric has aged with time taking on various shades of coloring. Photos are a good representation of actual color.

1 meter 6 cm from top to bottom x 87 cm across the bottom.  

 

Condition

 

Left in "as found" condition. There are various small stains here and there and soiling. The large pocket has come loose around all sides accept the top. No holes in the fabric but you will see wear at the edges especially on the straps.
