An antique dutch boy chintz bonnet. Dates from the mid 1700's. This bonnet has been made out of several pieces of chintz fabric that have been sewn together.  Beautiful florals against a madder red ground. A silk and cotton trim lines the sides and at the top center. All hand stitched.  Liner has been replaced with a newer one.

The child's bonnets were made and used in the small fishing village of Marken, Holland. The antique chintz's were hand down from generation to generation.

Photos are a good representation of actual color.
