Rare find! This early 1800's French cotton block print shawl. Part of a small collection that we recently required.
 
Details of this shawl: 
 
Base color is: olive with brown accents. 
 
Block print border: Depicting a broader band of stylized leaves and a narrower band on each side depicting simple florals and leaves. 
 
Sides; Hand rolled and hand stitched on all sides.

Condition
 
Left in "as found" condition. These shawls are very popular and widely collected. They are not my area of expertise and I am leaving restoration and cleaning up to the discretion of the customer. 
 
The shawl shows two larger stains towards one side and a smaller stain at one corner. A couple of small pinholes. The most notable thing about the condition is the large tear at one side and some damage at the edge along the same side. 
 
Would be beautiful framed, upscaled or reproduced.
