Rare find! This early 1800's French cotton block print shawl. Part of a small collection that we recently required.

Base color: burgundy/wine color
 
Block print border: Depicting florals and leaves
 
Sides; Hand rolled and hand stitched on all sides.

Condition
 
Left in "as found" condition. These shawls are very popular and widely collected. They are not my area of expertise and I am leaving restoration and cleaning up to the discretion of the customer. 
 
The shawl shows some two large holes in the center and some tiny holes in the center brown area. There are three small damaged areas at three of the edges with a bit of fabric missing. Some small light stains in brown area. Color in border and good strong and even. 
 
Would be beautiful framed, upscaled or reproduced.
