Antique wooden spool of gold metal flat thread. French in origin. Nice warm patina. Often used for couching and gold work embroidery. Nice quality. Photos are a good representation of actual color.
Measurements
 
Spool measures just under 6 cm from top to bottom x 3 cm across the bottom. 
The width of the thread is 1 mm
Undoubtedly at least 40 meters of thread on this spool. 
Condition
Old stock. Excellent unused condition.  The only thing to note si that the outer layer of the thread has a darker patina due to age. Nothing major.
