I've made this pillow using a 18th Century tapestry fragment. French in origin. Depicting a young woman far left and a young man far right unclothed with a crest in the middle. Possibly representing Adam & Eve since both are in a garden surrounded by apple tree and both appear to be holding a snake. Feather filled. Antique gold metallic trims have been hand applied to all sides. Blue velvet back. Photos are a good representation of actual color.
Measurements
69 cm x 33 cm wide.
Condition
All materials in making the pillow are in good condition and have been stabilized where necessary. Please keep in mind this is a very old fabric and like all antique textiles they show their age which only lends to their old world charm. |
